Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (GTA:VC) adalah permainan video keempat dari franchise Grand Theft Auto. Didesain di Britania Raya oleh Rockstar North (sebelumnya DMA Design) dan diterbitkan oleh Rockstar Games, permainan ini diluncurkan pertama kali di Amerika Utara pada tanggal 27 Oktober 2002 untuk PlayStation 2 dan dengan cepat menjadi permainan video dengan penjualan terbaik tahun itu. Between Swedish developer Digital Illusions' upcoming World War II shooter Battlefield 1942 and Czech Republic-based Illusion Softworks' newly available Mafia, September's turning out to be a banner month for great driving-shooting hybrids from European companies with the word "illusion" in their name. Arriving without much prerelease hype, Mafia is a highly engaging combination of the driving and living-city elements of Grand Theft Auto III and the story-driven third-person shooting action of Max Payne. What's more, it isn't plagued by the litany of problems usually associated with ambitious games from small development houses. Mafia looks and sounds great, it's exciting, it's suitably bug-free, and, at a time when eight hours is becoming the standard length for single-player shooters, it's long. Quite simply, Mafia is one of the best games of the year.

Grand Theft Auto III (GTA III) adalah sebuah permainan komputer yang diterbitkan oleh Rockstar Games pada Oktober 2001 untuk PlayStation 2, Mei 2002 untuk Windows, dan November 2003 untuk Xbox. Permainan ini mengisahkan seorang tak bernama yang dikhianati pacarnya dalam sebuah perampokan bank, dan harus bekerja untuk sebuah kelompok mafia.
Dalam Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, tokoh ini muncul sekilas dan di sana ia bernama Claude. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ini adalah tokoh yang sama dengan tokoh utama Grand Theft Auto dan Grand Theft Auto 2 yaitu Claude Speed.
Pemain mengendalikan Claude, yang dapat berjalan atau berlari keliling kota, mengendarai mobil, perahu, dan pesawat terbang, menggunakan berbagai senjata, menumpang kereta, dan sebagainya. Tidak ada jalan cerita yang lurus, pemain dapat memilih misi yang ingin dijalankannya, walaupun beberapa misi hanya dapat dimainkan setelah menamatkan misi tertentu atau setelah memiliki jumlah uang tertentu.
Selain misi-misi utama, pemain juga dapat menjalankan misi vigilante, paramedic, firefighter dan taxi driver. Keuntungan yang diperoleh adalah uang, senjata, kesehatan, dan lain-lain.
Pada awal permainan, pemain hanya dapat menjelajahi bagian kota yang bernama Portland. Setelah menamatkan misi-misi tertentu, ia juga dapat memasuki dua bagian kota lain, yaitu Staunton Island dan Shoreside Vale.
